The Association is a not for profit organisation dedicated to advancing high-quality, evidence-based research and education on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and other traditional, complementary and\/or integrative medicines through the development, endorsement, dissemination, and implementation of good practice guidelines and international standards. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Association\u2019s objectives are to:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Uphold the international network established by the FP7 GP-TCM Project*, fostering long-term collaboration between European, Chinese, and global partners.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Advance interdisciplinary, interregional, and cross-sectoral cooperation in TCM research, education,and development.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Promote good research and development practice in TCM, ensuring the sustainable use of resources and adherence to ethical and technical standards.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Develop, adopt, and promote good practices and international standards for TCM to enhance transparency, reproducibility, and the quality of TCM related products and research outcomes.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Advocate for evidence-based research and integration of TCM with conventional medicine, with an emphasis on quality, safety, and efficacy.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Facilitate collaboration and sharing of resources, expertise, and data among members, institutions, industry, and regulatory agencies.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. Organise scientific meetings and training and support the development of education and clinical practice standards.<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. Support capacity building for researchers, professionals, and industry in TCM through interdisciplinary training, mentoring, and exchange opportunities.<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Disseminate scientific and regulatory developments, promote dialogue between medical traditions, and support international harmonisation of regulatory aspects and standards in TCM.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Strengthen partnership with traditional medicines or healthcare-related professional societies, consortia, organisations, and regulators to promote accessible and affordable healthcare worldwide.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    *The Good Practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine Research in the Post-Genomic Era consortium was a European Chinese international collaboration funded by the European Commission under its Seventh Framework Programme and is widely known as the FP7 GP-TCM Project.<\/span><\/p>\n
